Let's call it another flavor of democracy...it's now used not only to fund indie films and CD's, but crowdfunding campaigns have often raised amounts in the $millions for hi-tech startups, apps, and all the iPhone gadgets you could dream of.

If your company or project is considering diving into crowdfunding, there is no better way to help insure that a crowdfunding campaign is successful than making a powerful video (which will appear near the top of the page, and be the first thing a viewer sees when he/she goes to a crowdfunding page).

Major crowdfunding sites (Kickstarter, Indiegogo) all agree that a crowdfunding page that includes a video usually raises at least 50% more than a page without a video. Why do humans love watching videos, especially videos where?

We pay attention to faces. It’s a well-known fact that our brain uses the human face as a source for collecting information and believability.

Emotions are powerful. The human face and voice are ideal ways to create emotion in the viewer. We love sharing our emotions with others and are deeply impacted by them.

Voice converts information into meaningful content. The human voice is the best way to impart information. Visual images or titles are good to illustrate or emphasize what a “talking head” is saying, but the core of the message is best expressed in a person talking to the viewer.

As with any video we make with you, JNY starts by helping you create a powerful script or script outline - what exactly is your product or service? what problems does it solve? how might it make the world a better place? why is it unique?

You know a video is working on you if it elicits a primal emotion: if it makes you smile, laugh out loud, gasp, or your eyes get moist. The goal of our collaboration with you is to create a video that will affect the viewer in these direct ways.

Of course, it’s not enough to make the video, we make sure it is seen by as many people as possible. Through social media, email blasts, and general publicity practices (getting an article on a blog or website relevant to your particular project or product), we create buzz around your campaign, And then, with a little luck and a lot of hard work, it goes viral, and people start talking about it to their friends without your help at all.
