Our event can inspire your community to feel empowered on many issues - rather than giving in to the despair rising out of the Trump administration's vehement work against addressing climate change. He and his African partners are finding ways to face the power brokers of their world - assorted extremist groups, ex-dictators and corrupt governments, self-serving leaders and undependable global financial institutions - without losing their souls.
And - new African-based climate organizations, like 350 Africa, are pioneering strong activism on the ground in many African nations - fighting back against fossil fuel projects (which are often unfortunately welcomed by local governments).

Our movie project shows the incredible need for electricity in developing nations. Our team (at right) did several video shoots with a Burundian family living in a village completely without electricity.
Soon after our first visit, we were heartbroken to learn that one of their children drowned in one of Central Africa's increasingly frequent floods - clearly related to global warming conditions. |

Harvey Stein (director, producer) is an American-Israeli filmmaker/teacher/activist who recently came back to New York, after living for 18 years in Jerusalem (where his impact film company, Jerusalem New York Productions is co-based. He presented his last feature documentary, “A Third Way - Settlers and Palestinians as Neighbors”, about Rabbi Menachem Froman (the notorious “settler rabbi for peace”), Ali Abu Awwad, and others - in over 50 impact screenings in both in the United States and Western Europe, and also in multiple Jewish Film Festivals. Stein believes that movies are our universal medium, and have to power to catalyze major changes towards a better world. Stein is also a licensed high school teacher, experienced in working with teens and others in making their own videos.
Vered Post (producer, co-writer) is an American-Israeli producer, writer and educator, co-directing Jerusalem New York Productions. She co-produced Jerusalem New York's last documentary, "A Third Way", including supervising the impact campaign. She has co-written several Israeli feature films, plays that have been produced both in Israel and in New York, was a co-writer for the original Israeli/Palestinian Sesame Street, and has presented a variety of workshops using films and filmmaking, in Israeli schools and other institutions, as well in New York. Fleury Kid Ineza (Burundi producer) - Jewish in his soul and Burundian at heart, he lives in Burundi, and works as a communications expert in the East African community, where he also heads a consultancy group called "TIKKUN OLAM CONSULTING GROUP". Fleury considers himself a descendant of the Jews who migrated south from Ethiopia many centuries ago. He firmly believes in the positive impact that "Green Rebels" can make, and is excited to bring it to audiences in Central Africa. |
