At a time when Israel is often misrepresented in schools, communities, and online, “Green Rebels” will help change the way people think about one of the world's most innovative and humanitarian countries…this movie will infuse people with a new sense of pride in the only Jewish country on the planet. - Roz Rothstein, CEO, StandWithUs International |
Can an ambitious Israeli-American guy living in Jerusalem successfully integrate his dual passions for tikkun olam (Hebrew: “healing the world”), and for risky, business chutzpah - to bring solar-generated electricity to millions in Africa? How do he and his African partners work with the power brokers of their world, including assorted African ex-dictators, international petro companies, and undependable global financial institutions - without losing their souls? |
When: Thursday, February 8, 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Where: The Romemu Center (176 W 105th St, NYC) We are almost finished with “Green Rebels”, our feature impact documentary on the solar energy visionary Yossi Abramowitz and his African partners. On February 8, at Romemu, we will play several excerpts from our movie. And then have a lively discussion with our main character Yossi Abramowitz, and director Harvey Stein. We want to hear your feedback on our movie, and on the issues in it: working to prevent climate change, helping African nations develop in positive ways (600 million Africans have no access to electricity), and how Abramowitz integrates his Jewish beliefs into his pioneering impact business. Abramowitz is briefly visiting NYC from his home in Jerusalem, and he and director Harvey Stein will both be at the event, as well as special guests. Suggested donation (to help us finish “Green Rebels” thanks!): $10 - $25. Reservations suggested (limited seating) here: www.tinyurl.com/greenromemu |

”Green Rebels” paints a picture that is both humorous and very uplifting, and ultimately transforms audiences in their connection to both Israel and Africa.
