Host a ZOOM MEET with “Green Rebel” director Harvey Stein |
Can an ambitious Israeli-American guy living in Jerusalem bring solar generated electricity to millions in neighboring Africa?
“Green Rebel” is an in-progress feature documentary project, following the struggles of solar energy visionary Yossi Abramowitz, as his Jerusalem company provides real, on the ground solutions to both global climate change, and to inequality in Africa (by bringing solar energy to some of the 600 million Africans without any access to electricity). Abramowitz says his goal is to make Israel a “sustainable Light unto the Nations.”

We are about halfway through shooting our impact movie project. In early February, 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic was in its very early stages, director Harvey Stein accompanied Yossi Abramowitz to Rwanda. Abramowitz was returning for a few days to the Youth Village there, where he had built his first African solar field, in 2015. We plan to return to Africa as soon we can, to continue filming in 1-2 other African nations where Abramowitz is finally (after more than 5 years of negotiating with multiple African governments) breaking ground for new solar fields.

Our ZOOM MEET is an 80-90 minute Zoom meeting, where you can invite up to 100 people from your synagogue, community, organization, conference or other group. At the ZOOM MEET, “Green Rebel” director Harvey Stein will share with the group about 30 minutes of scenes from our in-progress feature documentary. Between clips, he will lead short discussions/Q&A on the crucial issues Abramowitz's work raises, and participants can also share ideas and questions about related local issues in your neighborhood.
Together, we can imagine a better, more green, more equitable future - and commit to creating it. Another clip from "Green Rebel": Our ZOOM IMPACT event is a great way for your community to connect with each other in these difficult times, and to be inspired by a story of commitment, hope and tikkun olam. To preview other early clips, please email us and we can send you links. FEES: For a ZOOM MEET that starts any day of the week or Sunday, anytime 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 pm EDT - $225 For a Zoom Meeting that starts any other day, anytime 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm EDT = $250 Contact us for more info or to schedule a ZOOM MEET. |
By hosting a ZOOM meeting, your organization becomes an early partner in an impact movie that can inspire and educate: you will also get a 25% discount on a full impact screening/discussion of “Green Rebel” next year (we plan to finish our feature documentary in Spring, 2021, when if all goes well, director Harvey Stein will tour the United States and elsewhere with it - presenting in-person impact screening/discussions in synagogues, other houses of worship, non-profits, conferences, schools and universities, and elsewhere).
