Can an ambitious Israeli-American guy living in Jerusalem bring solar generated electricity to millions in Israel and neighboring Africa?
“Green Rebel” is our in-progress feature documentary project, following the struggles of solar energy visionary Yossi Abramowitz, as his Jerusalem company provides real, on the ground solutions to both global climate change, and to inequality in Africa (by bringing solar energy to some of the 600 million Africans without any access to electricity). "Green Rebel is an inspiring, motivating story of one key way to address the increasingly crucial issue of climate change - it is also a story of tikkun olam: Abramowitz says his goal is to make Israel a “sustainable Light unto the Nations.”

We are almost finished making "Green Rebel", and in alignment with this year's Big Bold Jewish Climate Fest, we will be presenting an exclusive seventy-five minute Zoom event to connect with interested viewers around the world:
- We will show about twenty minutes of excerpts of "Green Rebel" - We will discuss these excerpts with "Green Rebel" director Harvey Stein, and with main character Yosef Abramowitz (both of whom will be zooming from Jerusalem). You will learn more about "Green Rebel", get a taste of our movie, and then discuss all the issues in the story with us - including how your community is working on similar issues in these challenging times. We will also talk about how you can bring the finished "Green Rebel" to your community for an unforgettable screening/discussion event - with participation by director Harvey Stein, and possibly by Yosef Abramowitz as well. We plan to finish "Green Rebel" by Spring, 2022. Together, we can imagine a better, more green, more just future - and commit to creating it.
