We are so excited to be going ahead with our Shufu Shufu Reality series.
Shufu Shufu is a collaborative project of Jerusalem New York Productions and AlArz, the only Arab production company in Israel. Details on both production companies, including our past successes, are below in the biographies of our two producers. We know our team is just as diverse as the teams of contestants we will soon cast - and we are not wasting a second, diving into getting "down and dirty creative" with each other. Specifically, we are a unique team of Jews and Arabs working together to create an unforgettable reality show. Our diversity is essential to making our vision successful, as we challenge each other to try new things - to ride that edge of being gripping and moving, and entertaining, all at the same time. Our team will expand in the coming months - and you can be a part of it. Don't hesitate to contact us to start talking. |
EARLY TEAM MEMBERS:
Harvey Stein (Co-Director, Producer)
Stein's impact media company, Jerusalem New York Productions, has offices in Jerusalem and New York. His last feature documentary, “A Third Way - Israelis and Palestinians as Neighbors”, about Rabbi Menachem Froman (the notorious “settler rabbi for peace”), Ali Abu Awwad, and others, was a success, shown in film festivals, impact screenings, and in theatrical release. He has also directed shorter documentaries and several dramas, that have had limited runs on several networks. |
Ramez Kazmuz (Co-Director, Producer)
Ramez works at AlArz, the only Arab production company in Israel, as a director, producer, and cinematographer. Ramez was nominated for an Emmy for “Dying in Jerusalem” (co-prod. HBO), and has also directed two reality show projects that were streamed by AlArz. AlArz’s distribution company, EhnaTV, regularly produces and streams more than 20 programs at any one time. |

Noam's comedy and satire have made headlines throughout the Middle East and North America (her appearance on an Israeli-Arab news site, where she proclaimed she was looking for a husband, and had her sights on Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman — MBS - made waves throughout the Arab world). |
Rabbi Hanan Schlesinger (Cast: Coach) Rabbi Hanan is an Orthodox rabbi, teacher, workshop leader and writer, who in the last decade, has been profoundly transformed by his encounters with Palestinians, and his work bringing together Israelis and Palestinians. He co-founded and continues to co-direct Roots/Shorashim/Judur, a joint Palestinian-Israeli grassroots peacemaking initiative dedicated to understanding, nonviolence, and transformation. |
Dora Bender (Marketing/Communications Manager) Dora works with Challenge, Path of Hope and Peace, and other Israeli shared society organizations - on marketing and communications, graphic design, and fundraising. |
Phil Saunders (Financial Consultant) Phil worked at Royal Bank of Scotland, Lacerta Capital, and others, before moving to Israel. Now passionate about shared society work - he is Chairman of Path of Hope and Peace, and co-founder of Abrahamic Movement. |
